Hello Georgia!
well, we have finally arrived. The drive wasn't bad at all--miss S and the puppies all slept for most of the drive. The apartment is fine (though small) and now that I have been rescued from the perpetual movie watching by high speed internet and digital cable, my life is significantly better. Usually, I really don't watch this much tv but when there is a sleepy/feeding/fussy baby to deal with, rerurns of project runway look better and better.
the icarus shawl grows slowly but I have a hankering to knit something a little more sweatery. yes, i know, I just moved to georgia, the land of 40 degree winters but I'm figuring I can wear a sweater with no jacket in the winter, right? The only problem is what to knit... I picked up the latest IK and there are a few great ones in there. I really like the cover sweater but the knitters review review of the yarn says its slightly scratchy--so i'm a little wary. I also really like the gatsby girl sweater but I'm worried how my chest will look in it--nursing does some crazy things to your boobs and I don't want to look like, well, a hooker or anything.
I'm looking for something really comfortable and soft... sounds like its time to dig through the review archives for the perfect yarn. I don't have hardly any yarn here with me and mr. fruity has actually encouraged me to get some to start something new....
anyway--i'll post pictures of icarus soon!

Oh I'm so happy!!!! I just got my computer back up of more than a month with-out one (old one's hard-drive died, and even though DH is a computer geek, the shoemaker's children went barefoot waiting for him to fix his own wife's computer...But I digress, sorry)
I just went thru your archives and read them, I laughed and cried! I'm so glad little Miss S. is here! I was wondering when she'd be making a grand entrance!
After going thru a similar path to parenthood, I can assure you that you have a cyber-friend jumping up and down with joy for you somewhere in Wisconsin!

I must say, it has been awhile since I've checked your blog (been awhile since i've been on the computer for that matter). Well, I found out the other day that I am pregnant, and I remembered that you had been pregnant, so I was very quick to come and check out your page.
I am SO happy for you and your husband. congratulations on the birth of your daughter, your move to Georgia, and you ongoing knitting success. I am happy to see that things have been going well for you!
If you are every in NJ (we've moved, bought a house, and got knocked up ourselves...) please look us up for a baby-friendly place to visit!
